So the wedding was over, the wedding party was over and I got my Iroquois Falls visiting done - it was time to head back to Halifax so Skye can finish her last year of undergrad. On our drive from Iroquois Falls we thought about taking the long road that looped up to Lebel-Sur-Quevillon, QC but were slightly skeptical of the distance between gas stations / fitness of our 2003 Tacoma.
We decided to hit the main road and stop through Montreal - not without stopping throw Schwartz's Deli. Neither myself or Skye had gone before so we figured we'd try to original Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. It was as amazing as you'd think.
Nothing too special to it, just two pieces of rye bread, the most delicious smoked meat ever, and a pickle on the side. The wait wasn't too bad, we were quickly whisked to a seat outside before a huge lineup formed. There was no time to sit and chat - eat the sandwich, and get out of the seat for next people. That being said - still amazing. :)
We continued on through Quebec to Kamarouska. We stopped by our favorite place along the St. Laurence, la Brasserie Breughel. This place has tons of microbrew beers and small charcuterie plates. Skye and I had stopped there on our way out to get married and new we had to stop again. The view of the St. Laurence cannot be topped.
Our lovely seat outside.
There were tons of mosquitoes, but that didn't keep us from enjoying the view. They also have their own smoke shack, which is equally amazing.
And who can forget the chickens running around, happy chickens :)
We continued on from there in the morning and head off to the maritimes.
